Michael York

My husband’s name was Michael York – he was a Field Technician at S&ME, Inc. He went home to be with the LORD on April 8, 2004. He loved the LORD with all his heart, soul, and mind. He was a Sunday School teacher, Work & Witness Coordinator, husband, father, son, and a friend to many. He was used by our heavenly father to touch many people that he came in contact with. People were renewing commitments to the LORD, hearts were changed. The way he taught the lesson made it so easy to understand and he enjoyed it so much. He just glowed and was so happy to teach the word of GOD.

Michael York was a blessing from GOD and it was a pleasure to be his wife. And we shared thirteen years together and two beautiful children. I am thankful for the great memories we shared – I will treasure them until it is my time to go home. We look forward to the day the LORD fills the piece missing in our hearts that you took with you. I know that it would have made him very happy to know he was able to help two people with their sight. I pray the LORD will touch and bless the two that have a little piece of him in their eyes. We miss you and love you very much. You will always live very close to us in our hearts. My precious husband, until we meet again.

Love,
Dawn, Storm and Dakota

The North Carolina Eye Bank takes great pride in our ability to share the gift of sight with thousands of people every year through corneal transplant, research and education. This gift does not come without a price. We must remember that for each grateful recipient of a transplanted cornea or medical breakthrough achieved, there is a family who is struggling with the loss of a loved one. These are the stories and remembrances of their family members — the faces of donation.
