Amy
Lori Davis Yoder
Amy was born 11/9/64 to Rev. & Mrs. Ernest L. Davis, Sr. She has three older
brothers, Lee, Chester and Gary. She enjoyed crafts, including making earrings.
She loved others, was giving, kind, caring, helping, brave, made friends easily
and was quick to smile and laugh.
Some of her talents were singing, playing the piano, being in the Marching Band
in high school, and teaching. Working with computers was a talent, too.
Amy knew early in life that she wanted to be a teacher, so she went to college,
majoring in Child Development, K through 6. She taught Kindergarten, AG and 4th
Grades.
She was mission minded and was able to go on a mission trip through her church
to Antiqua, West Indies, with World Changers.
She had three goals in life – to marry, have children, and to teach. She
married Lee Yoder on 7/14/01 and had a son 6/17/03. They named him MacKenzie
Aaron Yoder. She was so happy with her husband and son.
She accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior in 1972 in a Southern Baptist Church
and remained a Baptist for the rest of her life.
This is our motto now – don’t ask why, but ask how – how can
we best serve the Lord, in leading others to Christ.

The North Carolina Eye Bank takes great pride in our ability to share the gift of sight with thousands of people every year through corneal transplant, research and education. This gift does not come without a price. We must remember that for each grateful recipient of a transplanted cornea or medical breakthrough achieved, there is a family who is struggling with the loss of a loved one. These are the stories and remembrances of their family members — the faces of donation.
